Stanza Wise’s Explanation of Keeping Quiet
First Stanza: Now we will count ………… our arms so much.
In the First Stanza, the poet starts by requesting everyone to count up to twelve in mind and take a stop. In the poem the Twelve referred to mainly two things that are 12 Hours of a clock or 12 Months in a Year. The poet wants to tell everyone to calm down and does not speak any language. (Here does not speak any language used in such a way that in different states different languages should be spoken which may become a barrier to peace). The poet also wants to tell everyone to not move their arms. (Here arms refer to the weapons used by the people of different nations). The Poet is against hatred and wants peace in society.
Second Stanza: It would be an exotic ………… his hurt hands.
In Second Stanza Poet explains the unusual and strange situation when there are no working engines like vehicles and machines are stopped. When there is total silence then all the world will experience the calmness and silence. In this sudden strange situation, people will not rush for their materialistic love, Fishermen will not harm animals and the people who earn for their livelihood will not harm themselves. The poet wants everyone to feel their need and wants and the real meaning of achievement in this world.
Third Stanza: Those who prepare ………… truck with death.
In the Third Stanza Poet requests everyone not to damage nature for personal greed and also asks people not to be part of the war as there is no benefit of such victory. The poet tries to create a new approach toward mankind and brotherhood. As the poet does not want everyone to stop their work, he only wants to say that analyze everything before doing anything.
Fourth Stanza: If we were not ………… ourselves with death.
In the Fourth Stanza poet explains that nowadays Humans are working hard seamlessly in order to achieve their goals and aspirations for the means of survival and Death Threats. So, here poet wants everyone to stop for a while and enjoy every moment of their life. This helps in understanding their true purpose in life and helps in enjoying achievements.
Fifth Stanza: Perhaps the Earth ………… quiet and I will go.
In the Fifth Stanza poet used the example of Nature to understand the importance of Introspection. In this stanza, the poet asks human beings to learn a lesson from the Earth. Even earth stop for a while in the winter season when everything freezes and when the season changes everything in nature starts running smoothly like Birds, Trees, Wind, etc. At last, the Poet ends up by asking everyone to count up to twelve and walk in peace.

The poet in the poem gives importance on Introspection and Deep Thinking. The Poem starts with the Poet asking everyone to take a pause for self-understanding and count up to Twelve. Here counting up to Twelve signifies several things like 12 Hours of the day or 12 Months of the year. The poet wants us to keep calm and still in silence without speaking a single language. By this, we can connect everything from our surroundings. This situation is very unexpected and exciting for everyone where everything is Calm and Silent.
As, Just because of Introspection (Self-Analysis), there is no living creature will be harmed in this world. The poet explains this with an example of Fishermen (Who survive by fishing) and People (Who work hard for their Livelihood).
The poet now wants to ask for introspection to the person who destroyed nature and used bioweapons. The purpose of self-thought is that the poet wants to change their mind by stop harming others with their actions as these victories are useless when there is no one to celebrate.
The poet then starts telling about the people who are Single-Minded toward their target and goals. They are all controlled by the Threat of Death and the Target of Survival. Now, the time has come they have to stop and remove the sadness by understanding the true meaning of lives.
At last poet wants to understand us the true value of introspection with the example of Earth. As even Earth is taking a pause during the winter season (everything freezes) and after this, the season changes everything comes to life. So all humans should have to take the pause to understand the true purpose of life and at last, once again we should have to count up to Twelve and walk quietly.
